Bojan Ilievski is the winner of the 19th season of the “Zvezda Granda” music competition, and by his own admission, he did not expect to reach the triumph.
Bojan is in conversation for “Grand” revealed that he had been going through a number of trials in life, perhaps the biggest of which was a gambling problem, which had him on the verge of going astray forever.
He managed to get out of it and shine the brightest on the music scene, whose crown for now is the victory in “Zvezda Granda”.
“Honestly, I didn’t expect to be the first. But thanks to the people who voted for me, as well as my efforts with my mentor, we managed to reach the very end and win,” said Bojan.
And his facial expression during the entire final gave the impression that he himself was looking at the passage to the winning throne with sincere disbelief.
“Until now in my life, I have not achieved any, how can I say prestige, life has not pampered me. This is the biggest success in my career and life,” said the winner of “Zvezda Granda” honestly.
A difficult life story
Many cried even earlier because of Bojan’s life story. He lost his parents at an early age, his grandmother was his main support.
“Someday I would like to tell some other things from my private life in one of Grand’s shows. I’m just a man who is honest, open and I’m not afraid of the truth. And just whatever someone asked me, whether it was from the jury or the production, I answered as it was. I didn’t lie or come to a stage where I would withdraw or avoid talking about certain topics,” he explained.
Although, by his own admission, the seventh round was competitively the most difficult, he almost gave up in the fifth round due to a problem with the cube.
“I had just such an experience. This is the only place where people found out many things about me. And it will remain so. And the other thing, that was a long time ago, I left it behind. I promised my mentor, but I promised myself first of all that I would never repeat those things in my life. I just kept going. I worked, I actively went to rehearsals. I had a confrontation about it, I faced everything and I moved on in life. Because now if we just think about problems, there is no solution. No matter what happens, things can change as long as they are alive. Only one thing can’t come back, and that’s when a person dies,” said Bojan.
Education
Bojan, despite all the adversities, completed regular schooling, as well as musical education, including the Academy in Slovenia, and it seemed incredible that he even got into a situation to go astray.
“It all started when my mother died. I became disillusioned with life and stopped working for more than a year. It all happened in 2021,” revealed the winner.
What next
He also revealed how he will celebrate this great triumph.
“I will give priority to the important things first, and that is to calm down a bit first. And then I will think about where we will go, what we will do and how we will do it. Of course there will be a concert, that’s for sure,” revealed Bojan and added that he will definitely invite his mentor Đorđe David as a guest.
“Obviously. ‘Đelem, Đelem’ and ‘Ibar vodo’, those are his songs, how should I say, the first on the list of songs that he sings like that,” concluded Bojan.
