A large fire broke out in the 173-year-old church, which is considered a historical monument, in the Brooklyn district of New York. The fire broke out around 1:20 p.m. at the South Bushwick Reformed Church near Bushwick Avenue and Himrod Street. The videos show that the fire and thick smoke spread from the bell tower part of the building.
About 190 employees of the fire department and ambulance went to the scene. According to the New York Fire Department, the fire was mostly extinguished around 3:35 p.m. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
It is reported that one firefighter was slightly injured during the extinguishing of the fire. He was treated at the scene and refused further medical attention.
The church was built in 1853 and is considered one of the historical monuments of New York.
