The Tajikistan national team continues to replenish its medal collection at the 2026 Asian Age Group Wrestling Championships, which is being held in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Another success was achieved by the Tajik wrestler Idris Bakhromov, who became the silver medalist of the continental championship.
In the beach wrestling competition in the 80 kg weight category, Bakhromov confidently covered the tournament distance and reached the finals, where he won a silver medal. This result was an important addition to the team’s overall performance.
Previously, Tajik wrestlers had already shown effective performance at the tournament, winning four bronze medals in various disciplines.
Among the winners: Mahdi Barotov – bronze (Greco-Roman wrestling, 60 kg), Idris Bakhromov – bronze (freestyle wrestling, 71 kg), Amir Obidov – bronze (Greco-Roman wrestling, 71 kg), Muslikhiddin Khodzhiev – bronze (freestyle wrestling, 45 kg).
Now Bakhromov managed to rise to an even higher level, adding a silver award to his bronze, but in another discipline – beach wrestling.
The Asian Championships in Danang take place from May 23 to June 9 and brought together about 1,000 athletes, coaches and delegations from 25 countries. The tournament includes several types of wrestling: freestyle, Greco-Roman, women’s and beach.
