The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation swore in this Tuesday Humberto López Villamil Ochoa as the new ambassador of Honduras in Costa Ricain an official event led by the Foreign Minister Mireya Agüero.
During the ceremony, the diplomat expressed that he assumes the position with “great honor and responsibility,” highlighting his commitment to strengthening diplomatic, commercial and cooperation relations between Honduras and the neighboring Central American country.
Relations between Honduras and Costa Rica They have been characterized by a historic regional brotherhood, as well as close collaboration in strategic areas such as security, trade and technical cooperation, elements that both nations seek to continue consolidating.
From the Foreign Ministry it was highlighted that the appointment of Lopez Villamil aims to strengthen and professionalize the Honduran foreign service, with a view to promoting a bilateral agenda that favors economic development and regional integration.
The new ambassador is expected to assume his duties in Costa Rican territory in the coming days, where he will continue diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening ties between both countries.
