In connection with the major youth tournament, former national football coach Kasper Hjulmand gave a lecture for sponsors and VIPs about “The Magical Football” – a lecture for which he normally charges DKK 15,000.

In connection with the major youth tournament, former national football coach Kasper Hjulmand gave a lecture for sponsors and VIPs about “The Magical Football” – a lecture for which he normally charges DKK 15,000.
As a special surprise for the guests at the opening, Kasper Hjulmand took the microphone and told how happy he is to see so many girls playing football.
To highlight this message, Hjulmand invited Manumina from the Greenlandic girls’ team B-67 on stage and presented her with a donation of 15,000 kroner to support the girls’ football activities.

It is no coincidence that Kasper Hjulmand supports a Greenlandic women’s soccer team. He has lived in Nuuk as a child – and today he forms a couple with the former Greenlandic Minister of Finance and Social Affairs, Maliina Abelsen.
– I know how difficult the logistics are for them in the huge country, and it is mega expensive for them to travel. That’s quite a savings those girls need to come here and play. So I want to support – not just football, but also girls’ football in Greenland. And remember all of us that we are closely connected with the lovely country, says Kasper Hjulmand to the newspaper Nordjyske.
Each year, the Dana Cup in Hjørring gathers more than 1,000 teams with 20,000 soccer players and fans from 45 countries for five days.
The cup is a very special experience for the Greenlandic football players, because all the matches are played on real grass pitches with international goals.
All teams in the Dana Cup are guaranteed a training match as well as at least three important matches and a playoff match in the regular season at the Dana Cup. The length of the matches is twice 20 minutes for teams under the age of 15 and twice 25 minutes for the oldest players.
During their stay in Hjørring, the footballers live in schools – and it takes virtually every school in Vendsyssel to have space for the young people, who are taken to the various stadiums in buses.
