Libya’s Minister of Health, Mohammed Al-Ghuj, met with WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Hanan Balkhy, to discuss strengthening cooperation and supporting efforts to modernize the country’s healthcare sector.
The talks focused on improving the quality of medical services in line with international standards and advancing the ministry’s reform plans, as the meeting marked the first visit by a high-level World Health Organization official to Libya, according to the Ministry of Health.
During the meeting, Al-Ghuj praised Balkhy’s regional efforts and recognized her contributions to developing healthcare across the Eastern Mediterranean, presenting her with a token of appreciation.
