His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, affirmed the preparation of ways to ensure the success of the Ashura season in an atmosphere of security and stability, based on the coexistence and tolerance that characterize Bahraini society. His Highness praised what was stated in the annual meeting of General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior, with the heads and officials of funerals on the occasion of the approaching Ashura season, in confirmation of the community partnership approach, and the preservation of civil peace and social cohesion, leading up to the Ashura season. It is safe, and all public safety requirements are met.
This came during a meeting with His Highness the Governor with a number of heads and officials of funerals in the governorate, in the presence of Brigadier Hamad Muhammad Al Khayyat, Deputy Governor, Colonel Sheikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Deputy Director General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate, and a number of officers from representatives of the security departments of the Ministry of Interior.
His Highness the Governor emphasized the role of the governorate in coordinating with the heads of funerals and following up on the provision of the necessary security and organizational services and needs, pointing to the role of all concerned parties in implementing community partnership for the success of the Ashura season.
The heads and officials of the funerals expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Governor of the South, praising his keenness to communicate and enhance aspects of cooperation and coordination, which would confirm community partnership.
