Employees of the Drug Control Agency detained a 44-year-old resident of Penjikent on suspicion of illegal trafficking in a large quantity of drugs.
How reported to the DCA, in early June, during operational activities on the territory of the Khoja Mansur dekhkan farm in the village of Farob, a cache with 30 briquettes of hashish with a total weight of 31 kg 270 grams was found.
Later, a service dog named Lucky helped discover a second cache nearby. It contained another briquette of hashish weighing 1 kg 15 grams.

Thus, the total weight of the seized drugs exceeded 32 kilograms.
The suspect was detained and placed in a temporary detention center.
A criminal case has been initiated against him under the article on illegal drug trafficking on an especially large scale.
If found guilty, he faces 12 to 20 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier in Dushanbe, residents of Istaravshan were detained, whom the capital’s Ministry of Internal Affairs called members of a transnational drug trafficking group.
According to the capital’s police, during their arrest, 50 kg of hashish was found and confiscated.
A criminal case was initiated against the detainees under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan – illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale. This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 20 years.
