Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, affirmed that the royal patronage given by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, to the Ashura season reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm approach to preserving religious freedoms and consolidating the values of tolerance, coexistence, and respect for sectarian diversity.
He praised the attention and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the various organizational and service aspects related to the season, which contributes to providing the appropriate atmosphere to commemorate this religious occasion in light of the security and stability that the Kingdom enjoys.
This came during an inspection visit by the Governor of the Capital to a number of funerals in Manama, to see the ongoing preparations and follow up on field needs, stressing the governorate’s keenness to provide the necessary support and facilities in coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure the success of the season.
Sheikh Khalid bin Hamoud Al Khalifa appreciated the existing cooperation between the heads of funerals and the concerned authorities, stressing that this cooperation embodies the spirit of national responsibility and contributes to the success of the Ashura season and the consolidation of the values of community partnership.
