Gulf News | Media professionals: Iranian claims are an attempt to reproduce outdated expansionist illusions

A number of media figures and journalists confirmed that the claims and allegations promoted by some Iranian media platforms regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain are not based on any historical or legal facts, and represent repeated attempts to falsify history and question the Kingdom’s sovereignty and Arab identity. !

At the beginning, Rashid Nabil Al-Hamar, editor-in-chief of Al-Ayyam newspaper, denounced in the strongest terms the false allegations contained in the article published in the Iranian Kayhan newspaper, which blatantly attack the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its Arab national identity, stressing that these allegations are nothing but a reproduction of outdated expansionist illusions that were overthrown by the facts of history, the provisions of international law, and the will of the Bahraini people.

He said that the most dangerous thing contained in the article is not only the false claim about Bahrain, but rather the attempt to speak on behalf of the Bahraini people and claim that they consider themselves Iranian, which is a ridiculous claim and constitutes a direct insult to the people of Bahrain.

Zuhair Tawfiqi, editor-in-chief of Al-Bilad newspaper, confirmed that the repeated Iranian allegations regarding Bahrain are not based on any historical or legal facts, stressing that Bahrain is a sovereign state whose people chose their fate of their own free will, and the international community recognized its independence and sovereignty, considering that responding to such allegations becomes a duty when they affect the nation’s sovereignty.

Tawfiqi explained that the Iranian allegations are not a journalistic opinion or a reading of history, but rather a political discourse that seeks to revive expansionist illusions that have outlived time.

On the same level, Faisal Al-Ali, editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper, confirmed that the allegations made by the Iranian newspaper Kayhan regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain represent a blatant example of denying historical, legal and political facts, and reflect an attempt to escape from the internal Iranian reality by exporting crises and creating imaginary battles with facts settled by history.

He said that Bahrain is an Arab state with sovereignty and a well-established identity, and the Bahraini state was established in the Arabian Gulf in 1783, that is, before the establishment of the modern Iranian state in its various successive political stages, and that Bahrain’s Arabism is not a political narrative that can be accepted or rejected, but rather an established historical fact that preceded these allegations and will remain after them.

For his part, Captain Mahmoud Al-Mahmoud, editor-in-chief of the English newspaper Daily Tribune, said that the terrible defeat that happened in Iran in recent weeks has affected the minds of some officials and writers, and it also seems to have made them lose sight and insight, as they did not see the Bahraini epic of steadfastness that continues to expand with signatures of loyalty to the leadership of the Kingdom under the banner of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Great King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On the same level, Fawaz Al-Abdullah stressed that the statements made by the so-called Shariatmadari are not based on facts and have no value in comparison with what is established and internationally recognized, stressing that Bahrain is a country that is building its renaissance and developing with the will of its leadership and people, and does not pay attention to what he described as the delusions of extremists and ideologues, considering that responding to such statements gives those who make them an importance they do not deserve.

At the same time, writer Mahmeed Al Mahmeed stressed that Bahrain is an Arab country steeped in history, and that the Dilmun civilization bears witness to its historical roots, while the legitimacy of the modern state was decided by the will of its people during the 1970 referendum conducted by the United Nations, in which Bahrainis voted in favor of independence, stressing that denying the will of the people is the real conspiracy.

He added that the claim that the people of Bahrain still consider themselves Iranian represents a distortion of the facts, stressing that the people of Bahrain have affirmed on various occasions their adherence to their homeland and their loyalty to their leadership, and that the unity of the Bahraini people was and continues to be the main factor in thwarting all attempts to spread discord.

For his part, writer Jaafar Salman confirmed that the statements of the Minister of Interior resolved the controversy surrounding the recent measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain, explaining that they came to refute the allegations that attempt to portray these measures as targeting the Shiite sect, while they target those who belong to the ideology of the Guardianship of the Jurist.

Salman pointed out that the Minister of Interior clearly confirmed that the Shiites in Bahrain are older than the Guardianship of the Jurist, and that they are an integral part of Bahrain’s past, present and future, which confirms that the issue is not linked to any sectarian targeting or specific group.

For his part, Farid Ahmed stressed that raising allegations related to Bahrain is repeated whenever the Iranian regime faces internal crises and the challenges it is going through escalate, considering that re-presenting these allegations comes within the framework of an attempt to divert attention from the reasons for the decline in performance and the losses that the regime is facing.

Ibrahim Al-Nahham said that the claim that the people of Bahrain are demanding to join Iran contradicts what the world knows about Bahrainis’ adherence to their national identity and loyalty to their homeland and leadership, pointing out that the people of Bahrain have proven throughout various historical stages their adherence to the independence of the Kingdom and their rejection of any attempts targeting its sovereignty or questioning its legitimacy.

At the same time, Tamam Abu Safi said that Bahrain has long since overcome the polemics and delusions of Hossein Shariatmadari, who belongs to the gang that seized ancient Iranian newspapers such as “Kayhan” and “Ettelaat” after Khomeini came to power, as part of a Khomeini-Western conspiracy to block the way for the Iranian Communist Party to come to power, while this gang turned Iranian newspapers into headquarters belonging to the Revolutionary Guard under the name of newspapers.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Nahhas stressed that the Iranian statements that talk about “rescue” represent an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and sow division, stressing that Bahrain enjoys security and stability derived from the cohesion of its people with its leadership and its Arab depth, and does not need any guardianship or external interference.

For his part, writer Abdul Moneim Ibrahim stressed that the repeated allegations made by some extremist Iranian media mouthpieces, specifically what was recently published by Kayhan newspaper about the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dependence on Iran, are false allegations and desperate attempts to falsify history. He explained that these provocative statements represent blatant interference in the internal affairs of a fully sovereign Arab country.

On the same level, writer Saad Rashid stressed that the Iranian talk about Bahrain in this language reveals that the problem is not in Bahrain, but rather in a political mind that is still unable to respect the sovereignty of states, and is still dealing with the neighborhood with the logic of influence and dominance, not with the logic of good neighborliness and equal relations, adding that whoever demands respect for his sovereignty in negotiations must first respect the sovereignty, security, and independence of others in their decisions.

For her part, Masooma Abdul Karim said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is steadfast, strong, in a cohesive fabric, a cohesive national body, and the steadfastness of the authentic people who have astonished the cunning haters.
