His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bapco Energies Group, affirmed that the strong strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly United States of America represents a major pillar for enhancing energy security and consolidating the sustainable transformation in this vital sector, in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s position and keeps pace with global changes.
His Highness pointed out the importance of deepening the frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination in a way that supports the exchange of experiences and the transfer of knowledge, is consistent with visions aimed at adopting innovation and adhering to international environmental standards, and contributes to consolidating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a reliable partner in the global energy system.
This came when His Highness met in a high-level meeting with Mr. Chris Wright, Minister of Energy of the United States of America, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Mr. Mark Thomas, CEO of Bapco Energies Group, and the accompanying delegation, as part of His Highness’s visit to the capital of the United States of America, Washington.
During the meeting, the prospects for enhancing strategic cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America in the fields of oil and gas, advanced energy and joint investments were discussed, and the most prominent developments in Bapco Energies projects, its expansion plans and its efforts with its global partners in adopting future technologies were reviewed.
His Highness reviewed the progress made in the project of the Deep Gas Evaluation and Development Program in the Bahrain Onshore Field, which aims to develop onshore oil reservoirs in the southern side of the Kingdom of Bahrain, using American technologies, which constitutes a promising opportunity to resume exploration and development work, in addition to announcing the resumption of the 3D seismic survey program in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, the most prominent developments in the Bapco refinery modernization program and opportunities for applying advanced refining technologies that raise the efficiency of operations and increase energy efficiency were also discussed, in addition to the growing technical projects in the energy sector that support innovation and the dissemination of next generation solutions.
