    His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and Chairman of the Supreme Council for the Environment, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is steadily continuing to consolidate its position in the field of environmental and climate action, in a way that embodies the lofty royal visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve sustainable development goals and ensure a more sustainable future for future generations.

    On the occasion of World Environment Day, which is held this year under the slogan “Action for Climate,” His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa indicated that this occasion represents an opportunity to highlight the national efforts and firm commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain towards environmental issues, stressing that His Highness has become a model in harmonizing the requirements of economic development and the protection of natural resources.

    His Highness said that the Kingdom of Bahrain is moving steadily towards achieving its climate goals, noting that His Highness presented the “Biennial Transparency Report” (BTR) officially joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change during 2025, which reviewed the level of progress achieved in implementing climate commitments and national efforts to reduce emissions and enhance adaptive capacity, in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.

    His Highness added that the Supreme Council for the Environment also submitted the Kingdom’s third national contribution, which includes a road map for Bahrain’s climate commitments until 2035, and includes strategic measures to enhance the efficiency of climate action and support green transformation paths. !

    His Highness also noted the success of the Kingdom of Bahrain in building a national database through the “National Greenhouse Gas Inventory,” in addition to continuing to implement strategic projects emanating from the national investment plan to adapt to climate change in the fields of agriculture, water, and green buildings, which reflects the integration of national efforts to protect the environment and enhance its sustainability. !

    His Highness affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s continued commitment to its international responsibilities in confronting climate challenges, and moving forward with initiatives that contribute to building a more sustainable future.
