The US Department of Justice has indicted five men for allegedly planning an attack on the event mixed martial arts UFC at on the birthday of the President of the United States Donald Trump.
Among other things, they are accused of conspiracy to commit murder, and they are also said to be planning an attack on members of the US government, the ministry announced on Tuesday.
The defendants allegedly exchanged criticism of the government and planned attacks on Tiktok. The men, aged between 19 and 32, were reportedly angry at Trump and the administration, including for supporting Israel and covering up affairs involving a late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to reports CBS for now, the defendants were reportedly discussing where they would find $1,300 to buy a drone that would later be used to attack an event in front of the White House — shooting people with one or more drones, breaking into the White House, and killing politicians and wealthy Trump guests. The leader of the group is said to be a 19-year-old man who was reported to the police by his mother.
Court documents allege the defendants wanted to kill Trump, the vice president, among other things JD Vancethe Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a few other politicians. It’s the White House UFC tournament presented to the public as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, which coincided with the president’s birthday, and was attended by high-ranking officials and thousands of fans of mixed martial arts.
They allegedly confiscated several pieces of weapons, ammunition and military equipment, but did not find the drone. A total of 19 people allegedly participated in a special group on tiktok. Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI Kash Patel announced on the X social network that they were planning an attack, and members of the Secret Service later accused him of rushing to release the information before they could find and arrest all the members of the group.
Director of the US Secret Service Sean Curran is for Fox News said his agents were working around the clock to identify those responsible and bring them to justice. They also stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that is why they did not want to reveal it yet. “Some suspects are still at large, so we will continue our investigation until we identify all of them,” he said.
