Firm interventions to deter criminal gangs in Oran

The recent successive operations carried out by the security services in Oran, led by the Search and Intervention Squad, in the context of confronting theft and assault gangs documented on social media, demonstrate the strategy of insisting on undermining the impact of members of these criminal gangs on the ground, through record speed in arresting those suspected of involvement in various criminal operations on the one hand, and displaying rigor and deterrence during their arrest procedures so that they can serve as an example to others on the other hand.

Perhaps the latest incident that has been widely circulated in the form of a video clip on social media is that related to the intervention of significant numbers of members of the Search and Intervention Squad, at the beginning of this week, at the level of one of the chaotic sites located in the regional jurisdiction of the Belqaid region, in which the severity of the security agents appears as they arrest those involved in the attack that targeted a citizen and robbed him last Saturday, before they fled, and resorted to hiding in one of the residences located in the aforementioned site, after the incident was filmed. They were robbed and assaulted by a citizen early in the day.

The video documenting the arrest process has spread widely in the past few days, given the firm manner in which members of the Search and Intervention Squad arrested the three perpetrators (two assailants and a third whom he hid), and how they took them out of the building in which they had taken refuge, carried them on their necks, and put them in security cars that then took them towards the headquarters of the relevant security services in order to initiate the necessary investigations against them, in preparation for handing them over to the authorities. The judiciary has regional jurisdiction, in order to hold them accountable for the actions attributed to them, amid the approval of the citizens who were in the process of following up on the merits and stages of the arrest process.

With almost the same determination and record speed, members of the First District of the Judicial Police of Oran State Security succeeded in arresting a young man who posted a video clip last weekend, through Blue Space, in which he appears carrying a large white weapon in his hand, and displaying a group of stolen car license plates.

After conducting the necessary field investigations, in coordination with the competent prosecution, the members of the squad were able to identify the suspect and arrest him along with his partner, who documented the operation and published it on social media, in addition to seizing the method used, represented by a mobile phone, which ended with them being presented before the Public Prosecutor at the Flaussen Court to initiate judicial procedures against them.

The security services in Oran (the Search and Intervention Squad) had reacted months ago with the same seriousness, speed, and severity during the robbery and assault incident that affected the owner of a jewelry store located in the Belqaid region, which was also documented in a video that spread widely at the time, especially since the robbery was accompanied by a brutal assault on the store owner. Less than 72 hours after the clip was published, members of the squad were able to arrest the three gang members and recover all of the stolen items, in scenes that were documented by the general public and received great dissemination and approval, especially since those involved in abusing the store owner after stealing it were taken for investigation and then to the corridors of justice.
