– Being part of KRK-Inua, first as a volunteer for three years and then as a project manager for almost 10 years, has shaped my view of both Greenlandic society and people in general, says 37-year-old Erni Kristiansen, who elaborates:

– Being part of KRK-Inua, first as a volunteer for three years and then as a project manager for almost 10 years, has shaped my view of both Greenlandic society and people in general, says 37-year-old Erni Kristiansen, who elaborates:
– Over the years, I have learned how crucial it is that we, as adults, give far more space to young people in everything that concerns young people. They are always bursting with ideas, good and not so good, and our most important task is to create a safe space where they can openly talk about society, themselves and their lives. When we adults really listen, we quickly discover the things we ourselves have forgotten to say and do, it sounds sincere from the departed project manager, who can see that today’s young people already know a lot.
– It is not just a future potential; For many years I have seen what young people can create when social activities are planned, carried out and evaluated by the young people themselves. It is about creating a framework with the young people, not for them.
Erni Kristiansen is not worried about the youth. On the contrary.
– I am really looking forward to the future that the young people will create together with us adults. It has given me a deeply rooted view of humanity and a belief that the strongest changes are always created from below and together, he says.
