FAETANO – A section of Strada Quinta Gualdaria, in the Bigandola area, affected by a landslide, will be completely closed to vehicular traffic on Tuesday 3 November. The provision will remain in force until Friday 18 December to allow the restoration and safety works to be carried out in the area.
The intervention, awaited by the Faetano community since 2018, was launched on Monday 26 October and involves an investment of 230 thousand euros. The completion of the works is scheduled for April 2027.
During the closure period, traffic will be diverted along alternative routes, indicated through special temporary signs. The road system in the direction of Montegiardino will instead be freed from traffic light systems, to facilitate travel.
To limit inconvenience, especially to the elderly and more fragile people, a specific measure has been put in place to guarantee the continuity of health services. The general practitioner, Doctor Arcangeli, will in fact be present at the Faetano Health Center from Monday to Friday for the entire duration of the construction site.
The Secretariat of State for Territory and Environment thanked the Secretariat of State for Health, the Institute for Social Security and the competent Department for the collaboration which will allow it to maintain an essential service close to the community.
Thanks were also addressed to the Castello di Faetano Council and the residents for the collaboration and availability shown during the works, necessary to definitively secure the road section and return it to full usability.
