
The National Bureau of Meteorology warned of a severe heat wave that will affect a number of states during the next two days, with temperatures expected to reach record levels exceeding 45 degrees Celsius.
The Diwan explained, in a special bulletin on the weather situation, that the coastal and eastern states of Tipaza, Algiers, Boumerdes, Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba and El Tarf will witness maximum temperatures ranging between 39 and 43 degrees Celsius.

The same departments also warned of a more severe heat wave across the states of Relizane, Chlef and Ain Defla, where temperatures will range between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of recording higher levels locally during peak hours.

The National Meteorological Office confirmed that the validity of this bulletin extends from Friday until Saturday.
