Today, the Jeddah Governorate Municipality began evacuation notices for 129 buildings at risk of collapse within the Ghalil neighborhood, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the level of public safety and protect lives and property from the risks associated with dilapidated buildings.
The secretariat explained that the specialized teams in the General Department of Emergency and Crisis began implementing field notifications for the buildings included in the procedure, in preparation for completing the approved regulatory procedures in coordination with the relevant authorities.
This comes within the secretariat’s program to treat buildings at risk of collapse in the governorate, after implementing previous stages that included a number of neighborhoods, including Al-Faisaliah, Al-Rabwah, Al-Farouq, and Al-Ruwais, through field monitoring and completing regular procedures for cases that require treatment.
The Secretariat confirmed the continuation of the approved regulatory procedures, starting with monitoring and documenting the condition of buildings, through notifying the owners and giving them a regulatory deadline, all the way to taking the necessary steps to address their conditions in accordance with the applicable regulations, and that it continues to enhance public safety, protect lives and property, and address the conditions of dilapidated buildings that pose a danger to residents and the urban environment.

The municipality confirmed the continuation of the approved regulatory procedures, starting with monitoring and documenting the condition of the buildings, notifying the owners and granting them the regulatory grace period, and reaching the necessary steps to address their situations in accordance with the applicable regulations. It is committed to enhancing public safety and protecting lives and property, as well as addressing the conditions of dilapidated buildings that pose a danger to residents and the surrounding urban environment.
