The leaders of France, Germany, Great Britain and Italy welcomed the peace agreement planned to be signed between the United States and Iran, evaluating it as an important step towards the restoration of stability in the Middle East and a positive impact on the world economy. At the same time, they emphasized that Iran should never acquire nuclear weapons.
In a joint statement issued on June 15, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Mehrs, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised the agreement expected to be signed between the United States and Iran on June 19. assessed.
The European leaders noted that this agreement serves to alleviate tensions in the region, strengthen security and stabilize the global economy. They congratulated the participants of the negotiation process on the diplomatic achievement and emphasized the importance of the quick and complete implementation of the agreement.
In the joint statement, special attention was paid to the need to immediately restore the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. He said that European countries are ready to support international efforts in this regard, and if necessary, they will also participate in demining the important sea corridor.
In a separate statement, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer emphasized that international shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz should be restored without any additional fees.
