SPAK, in cooperation with the State Police, have developed an extensive operation to attack a criminal group suspected of drug trafficking and money laundering in large amounts.
During the operation, 20 security measures were issued. Among those arrested is Orest Sota, while for businessmen Artur Shehu and Ilir Shtufi, suspected of money laundering of the criminal group, a security measure of “prison arrest” has been issued. Both are located abroad.
Artur Shehu is the owner of most of the land in Zvërnec, where the construction of a luxury resort is planned.
Meanwhile, Ilir Shtufi is one of the most well-known businessmen in the field of construction, it is thought that he is related to Shkëlzen Berisha, the son of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. He has realized several big projects in Tirana.
Meanwhile, Orgec Birçaj is also being sought.
Orest Sota is known for his capture on November 1, 2017, when he was arrested driving a vehicle carrying 863,000 euros.
