Iran included a demand for 300 billion dollars to restore the economy in the draft memorandum with the United States.
Based on sources familiar with the content of the Mehr Agency document message said that the draft memorandum consists of 14 points and envisages gradual normalization of relations between Tehran and Washington.
Among the main demands of Iran are the complete cancellation of sanctions and the naval blockade, the unblocking of 24 billion dollars of frozen assets, the cessation of hostilities in Iran and Lebanon, and the withdrawal of American troops from areas near Iran.
A separate block of the deal concerns the nuclear program. Iran is ready to reaffirm its commitment to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and begin 60 days of negotiations to develop a final resolution on nuclear issues. According to Axios, as part of the deal under discussion, Iran is also willing to commit to not developing nuclear weapons and to limiting the level of uranium enrichment under the supervision of international inspectors. According to the publication, such rules are generally in line with US requirements.
According to the memorandum, the final agreement must be approved by a UN Security Council resolution. It is proposed to create a special monitoring mechanism to control the implementation of agreements. Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the released document is not yet final and needs to be agreed upon.
On June 11, US President Donald Trump said that the agreement is in the final stage of preparation. According to him, the only thing left for the parties is to sign the documents. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Ismail Ibrahim, said that the work on the text of the agreement has almost been completed in the main directions.
