The analysis showed that the device differs only in color and some insignificant features.
The sensational Trump T1 smartphone was initially presented as a patriotic, “100 percent made in the USA” alternative to Apple and Samsung devices. A year later, the smartphone finally reached its first owners. iFixit experts decided to disassemble and inspect the device.
Experts have passed the smartphone through a computer tomography, and then disassembled it down to the last bolt, and as expected, they found out what was clear even after the announcement: most of the components and the main technical characteristics of the T1 smartphone are fully compatible with the HTC U24 Pro released in 2024.
“Trampofon” has changed the design of the camera module and the speaker grille, the LED flash has been slightly moved, and the body has been painted in gold color so that it does not look like an absolute copy of the HTC product. The rest of the components are the same, including a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.

In addition, engineers managed to transfer the main board of the HTC U24 Pro to the Trump Mobile T1 case – the device continued to work, launching the system with the HTC logo.
Reporters say this case indicates the use of a common OEM/ODM manufacturer that produces the same basic platform with minimal design changes for different brands. So, the Trump T1 is also a completely Chinese gadget in an American shell.
Earlier, Trump T1 was criticized due to its Chinese origin. Initially, Trump’s team emphasized that it was made in America, but later the phrase disappeared from the site and was replaced by the vague slogan “American-proud design”.
The T1 Phone is priced at $499. According to the media, more than 600,000 people pre-ordered the smartphone.
