He ignored several red lights and also used lanes of oncoming traffic. Because of the dangerous driving style, the police initially broke off the pursuit.
Fugitive car spotted by helicopter
A little later the car was seen again on Autobahn 3 in the direction of Oberhausen. According to the police, the car was traveling at around 160 kilometers per hour and, among other things, was using the hard shoulder. Here too, the direct persecution was ended for security reasons.
A police helicopter finally spotted the vehicle at a bus stop in front of a supermarket in Ratingen. During the check, the suspected driver was a 13-year-old child, although there were doubts about the age stated on the ID card.
The alleged passenger is a 16-year-old teenager who has already appeared to the police several times. The two were taken to the police station and released after consultation with the public prosecutor’s office and the youth welfare office. There were no indications of a break-in in the previously observed residential building.
