Al-Shahid Al-Hafiz, June 11, 2026 (SPS) – The training course on the subject of principles of archiving and digital transformation was concluded today, Thursday, at the headquarters of the Media Archive, with an evaluation session for the study days supervised by members of the Algerian National Archives in cooperation with the Sahrawi National Archives.
During the ceremony, the supervisors were presented with some symbolic gifts and a certificate of appreciation by the Directorate of Media Archives and the Sahrawi National Archives.
The attendees appreciated the lessons they benefited from during this session, whether in theoretical or practical aspects, which gave them a scientific foundation in how to manage documents in terms of preservation, sorting, selection, and exclusion according to scientific standards.
The course dealt with the fact that the archive is a modern science in terms of its nature and objectives. It has its own codified legislation and scientific methods. It monitors and documents the activity of institutions, but rather is a record from which historians and researchers draw.
Above and beyond this is the source of power from which the official derives sound decision-making, in addition to the international standards framing the course of the document in terms of processing and accompaniment.
The audience listened to a look at the electronic archive and the challenges brought about by the information revolution and modern technologies in document management across legal, historical and aesthetic dimensions.
As a reminder, the session was held on the sidelines of the celebration of World Archives Day, which falls on June 9 of each year.
The session was distinguished by the presence of the Director of the Algerian Archives and the Secretary-General of the Tindouf Province. (SPS)
