In the church cemetery in Koknese, a bronze bas-relief, made individually according to a sketch, was stolen from the monument and the letters of the inscription were removed. A report has been submitted to the State Police about the incident, Nora Dekker shares the news in a Facebook post.
It was not just the bronze object that was stolen, but also part of the commemorative story that was created to preserve bright memories for a close person.
“The bas-relief was a specially commissioned work of art created by a well-known sculptor,” the woman writes.
