On Sunday afternoon, the Algerian international player, Nabil Bentaleb, witnessed something unprecedented for him in the Lille team, since he joined the French club in the summer of 2023.
The Lille team won 2-0 over the visiting Troyes club, in a match in the fourth round of the French championship.
Italian technician Davide Ancelotti, coach of Lille, decided to award the team captain’s badge to midfielder Nabil Bentaleb. This is for the first time since the Algerian international joined this club in August 2023.
Davide Ancelotti recently stated to the French press that he had no qualms in consulting Bentaleb, because of his experience and competence. Note that this coach is the son of the famous Italian technician and current Brazilian national voter, Carlo Ancelotti.
Lille is in the lead with 10 points, and Troyes is in 11th place with a total of 4 points.
