A video that is circulating on social networks has brought attention back to a road incident involving the chief of the Kruja police station, Elton Shahini.
After the publication of the images, Shahini reacted to JOQ Albania, giving his version of the event and apologizing for the vocabulary used during the clash.
According to him, the incident happened during the month of July, outside the official working hours. Shahini claims that the other driver was performing dangerous maneuvers and that the situation escalated afterwards.
“The incident happened outside my official working hours in July. The citizen involved in the incident was under the influence of narcotics and was performing dangerous maneuvers, directly endangering my life.”
Shahini admits that during the tense moment he used an inappropriate vocabulary, for which he apologizes.
He also claims that during the incident he faced physical violence and insults, but denies using his official position or authority to threaten the other person.
“Despite the physical violence and insults towards me, at no time have I used my official authority, I have not threatened the position I hold and I have not responded with physical violence”, said Shahini.
Allegations about the use of narcotics and physical violence are part of the version given by Shahini and are not confirmed by the information presented.
