In the last hours, the Justice of Bolivia rejected the request for freedom presented by the defense of Tatiana Marsetsister of the drug dealer Sebastian Marsetso she will continue to be held in the Palmasola prison while the investigation against him progresses.
During this Friday, an appeal hearing took place in Bolivian territory where his defense sought to reverse the precautionary measure against him and obtain his release, but the claim was rejected by the court.
In statements collected by the Bolivian media The Dutythe prosecutor assigned to the case, Gomer Padilla, explained that the request was analyzed by the competent judge, who concluded that elements persist that justify preventive detention.
“The judge has decided to deny the measure of cessation of preventive detention on the understanding that procedural risks remain latent in relation to the danger of flight“he noted.
Marset was captured along with other foreign citizens and in possession of heavy caliber firearms. Padilla indicated that there are four people who remain under investigation in the context of the case after the arrest of Sebastián Marset in the Las Palmas neighborhood.
“Marset’s sister is investigated for arms trafficking, carrying and illegal possession of firearmswhich are the main crimes, where in this case there are four people investigated,” said the prosecutor.
With this resolution, the sister of the Uruguayan drug trafficker will continue to be detained in the Palmasola prison while the judicial proceedings are carried out and the investigation of the Public Ministry.
