KUCHING (May 6): Batu Kawa is a growing township with strong community and business potential, said Affin Islamic Bank Berhad chief executive officer Dato Paduka Syed Mashafuddin Syed Badarudin.
He said as development progresses, Batu Kawa will continue to attract continued investment and the bank’s latest branch there reflected confidence in the township’s upward trajectory.
“Today’s opening is especially meaningful, as Affin Bank Batu Kawa becomes our 10th branch in Sarawak, reflecting our continued confidence in the state and our long-term commitment to bringing banking services closer to the communities we serve,” he said during the opening ceremony at Pines Square, Batu Kawa here.
He noted that as Batu Kawa continues to expand, Affin Bank aims to position itself where growth is most evident.
“As the area continues to develop, we are committed to being present where people live, where businesses grow and where new opportunities are taking shape,” he said.
Syed Mashafuddin said the new branch also aligned with the bank’s broader strategy of enhancing accessibility while advancing its digital banking initiatives.
Also present at the opening ceremony was Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, Kuching South mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng, Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, Padawan Municipal Council chairman Tan Kai and Affin Islamic Bank chairman Musa Abdul Malek.
