    Asians caught for illegally transporting passengers



    KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Highway patrol officers arrested two Asian men for illegally transporting passengers. According to a security source, the two men were arrested during routine patrol operations, as the highway patrol officers noticed these men transporting passengers in exchange for a fee. The two men were taken into custody, their vehicles were impounded, and they were transferred to the traffic police station pending the completion of legal procedures.

    The source stated that the fine for using a motor vehicle to transport passengers for a fee without obtaining a permit is KD150, if settled amicably. The source added that if the case is referred to the court, the offender may face a prison sentence ranging from one to three years and/or a fine ranging from KD600 to KD1,000.
