A warehouse in which they were hidden 5,330 ammunition of various calibers and five grenades was located by the National Police in Vacamonte, Arraiján district.
The investigations were carried out after a citizen alert reported the existence of weapons at the site, so specialized Police personnel went to the site and located the ammunition and explosives.
The grenades and ammunition were found in an abandoned and remote building, which, according to residents of the area, is used as a hiding place by criminals.
Police explosives specialists and personnel specialized in handling high-caliber ammunition arrived at the scene. Suppliers and ammunition for shotguns were also located.
Ballistics experts explained that among the ammunition found were ammunition for 9-millimeter pistols, shotgun cartridges, ammunition for 5.56-millimeter and 7.62-millimeter rifles, propellants for grenade launchers and tracer bullets.
The Police and the Public Ministry are investigating the origin of the ammunition and who the recipients were, since it is ammunition for weapons of war.
This is the largest ammunition seizure registered so far this year.
