This announcement came during the working visit of Minister Sayed Ali Zerrougui to Tunisia, at the head of an important delegation, to participate in the work of the fourth session of the Algerian-Tunisian joint technical committee for cooperation in this field.

The two sides also agreed to develop and improve the existing terrestrial connection between the two countries, in addition to examining mechanisms for providing preferential roaming tariffs for mobile communications, and developing Internet of Things solutions based on satellites, according to the same statement.

The two parties also agreed in the field of frequency spectrum – the statement adds – to create a joint working group between the two competent authorities to coordinate mobile phone networks, reduce radio interference in border areas, and enhance coordination in preparation for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027.

At the level of postal cooperation, it was agreed to launch joint philatelic programs to value the historical, cultural and tourism heritage of the two countries, and to develop the transportation and postal transit infrastructure to support electronic commerce, as well as establishing a system for electronic exchange of data and a joint system for transferring money by post.

In the field of technology and entrepreneurship, the two sides also expressed their desire to implement practical initiatives that include institutional twinning, support for emerging enterprises, incubation and acceleration programmes, and strengthening cooperation in the areas of research, development and innovation within international programmes.

Zerrougui expressed his “sincere thanks and appreciation to the Tunisian side for the warm reception, generous hospitality and good organization,” praising “the depth of the fraternal and historical ties that unite Algeria and Tunisia and the distinguished level reached by the relations of cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries.”

The session was organized within five sectoral working groups that dealt with the axes of communications infrastructure and information technologies, management of the frequency spectrum, cooperation between Algeria Post and Tunisian Post, technological poles and entrepreneurship, and developing prospects for bilateral cooperation.
