
The carrier says they were unable to contact the passenger to find out more details

A passenger on the Odesa-Kyiv train said that during the trip she was sexually harassed by a man who was traveling with her.
The passenger denied the accusations, and “Ukrzaliznytsia” stated that they were unable to contact the girl to find out the details of the incident. After her statement, the police opened a criminal case
“UP. Life” tells what is known about the scandalous incident.
Recently, Khrystyna is a user of the Threads social network published a post in which she talked about harassment on the train. According to the girl, she woke up in the middle of the night from the fact that a stranger was touching her breast.
“At first I thought, what did I think. I woke up, I look – this bastard is sitting above me. I turned away, and he sat closer and began to run his dirty hands on my arm again and wanted to reach my chest.”– the passenger wrote.
Later, the girl turned to the conductor, but she was allegedly refused to turn to the police.
She added photos of the man whom she accused of harassment to the post. From the photo, other users identified him and found his Instagram page.
There is a man confirmedthat that night he was traveling by train to Kyiv for a routine examination of his son, who has multiple developmental disabilities. And he called the passenger’s statements “absolutely baseless” and told his version of events.
“My son and I had the upper seats in the general reserved carriage. At night, I went down to the lower one for water. The girl there asked me to get up to her seat and not to touch her. I apologized and went back there.
Indeed, going down from the upper berth could create inconvenience, so I apologized for this several times”says the man.
He added that because of Khrystyna’s post, he began receiving massive threats against himself and his family. The passenger says he is ready to answer all questions in the presence of the police and apologize again.
“Please stop any speculations and threats. I will defend my honor and dignity”says the man.
In the comments to the passenger’s post about her complaints reacted representatives of “Ukrzaliznytsia” and asked to add a ticket to start an official check.

Subsequently, the girl’s statement that she was allegedly refused to contact the police, called “by deception”: the conductor found out about the situation 10 minutes before the arrival of the train. At the same time, the passenger who was accused of harassment was called a “scoundrel”.
The UZ stated that they tried unsuccessfully to contact the passenger in order to “clarify several discrepancies.”
Instead, Christina named the carrier’s reaction as “slander” and stated that she had filed a complaint with the law enforcement officers.
“UP. Life” requested a comment from “Ukrzaliznytsia” and is awaiting a response.
In the Kyiv police confirmedwho received an appeal from a passenger, after which they opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code – sexual violence.
“Currently, the police are establishing all the circumstances and interviewing the witnesses of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.”the law enforcement officers added.
In a comment for “UP. Life”, the police reported that they are not disclosing the details of the investigation yet.
Formerly a writer and a military man complained on an employee of “Ukrzaliznytsia” who was loudly watching Russian TV series at the station in Kyiv. The UZ apologized and assured that they would conduct an inspection.
