The president of the United States, donald trumpthreatened this Sunday to impose tariffs of 50% on imports of China if Beijing provides weapons to Iran.
The president issued this warning during an interview with Fox News after the network cnn revealed that US intelligence believes that the Chinese government is preparing the delivery of anti-aircraft missile systems to Tehran.
“I doubt they would, because I have a (good) relationship and I don’t think they would,” Trump said, adding, “But if we catch them doing that, they get a 50% tariff, which is a staggering amount.”
On Saturday, in statements to the press at the White House, He had already warned that “if China does that, China is going to have big problems.”
Trump plans to travel to Beijing in May to meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
The delegations of USA and Iran left Islamabad this Sunday without an agreement to end their conflict after more than 20 hours of meeting in what was the highest-level face-to-face between both countries since the Islamic revolution of 1979.
