At other tables, the few neighbors who came had questions, the most common being how many boxes to mark on each ballot. The number of projects and their description were placed on each of the tables so that residents could learn about them and vote for their favorite.
Other doubts, which were resolved by the polling station officials, were whether they could vote on behalf of others people and if it was their turn to vote at that table.
In some housing units attendance was high. When questioning some neighbors about it, they confessed that through their WhatsApp groups they agreed to attend the vote.

The Permanent Commission for Citizen Participation and Training of the Electoral Institute of Mexico City (IECM) It was installed in permanent session to follow up on the activities of this neighborhood day.
At 9:00 a.m., the day of voting and opinion began with the installation of the two thousand 396 opinion receiving tables in the 1,764 colonies or towns.

In her message, the president advisor of the IECM, Patricia Avendañostated that this day is a citizen celebration that strengthens democracy and promotes participation.

“Let us continue creating citizenship, providing this opportunity, let us continue to use these resources, let us continue to be a national and international reference for the Participatory Budget and the citizen representation bodies that show that this city is demanding, demanding, vibrant and that makes the city its own. exercise of democracy”, he highlighted.
The counselor Erika Estradapresident of the Permanent Commission on Citizen Participation, indicated that both exercises complement representative democracy, strengthen it and make it more sensitive to what happens in each environment.
“Today we begin a day with the conviction that citizen participation continues to be one of the most powerful tools to strengthen our democracy and with the hope that through these mechanisms we will continue to build a more solid, supportive and committed community,” he noted.
