Attorney General Maroš Žilinka is fully stabilized after treatment and without difficulties.
In the next few hours, it is planned to release him to home treatment and follow-up care.
Penta Hospitals SK communications specialist Jana Fedáková informed about it.
“Yesterday afternoon, Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka was hospitalized in the Bratislava CINRE Nemocnice Bory Cardiocenter. He is fully stabilized after treatment and has no problems. In the next few hours, it is planned to release him to home treatment and follow-up care,” explained Fedáková.
According to media reports, he was suspected heart attack as the reason for hospitalization.
According to the Minister of the Interior, the Prosecutor General is Matúš Šutaj Eštok (Voiceover) okay and coming together.
“I texted Mr. Prosecutor General yesterday that I wish him a speedy recovery. I received a reply that he is fine and is getting back together. So I also wish the Prosecutor General a speedy recovery so that he is back in office as soon as possible and especially that his health serves him. That is absolutely essential. Everything else is irrelevant,” said Šutaj Eštok at a press conference in response to a journalist’s question.
Whether a new prosecutor general will be elected before the end of Žilinka’s term of office, which should last until the end of 2027, is up for debate within the coalition, according to the head of the Ministry of the Interior. But he doesn’t think that will happen.
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Tibor Gašpar from Direction he hopes that Žilinka will get better and will soon return to his office.

Gašpar ruled out that, given his health condition, the current coalition would have the ambition to elect a new general prosecutor.
“It will take place in the new election period, we want to comply with the laws,” said Gašpar, adding that the new prosecutor will be elected by the new parliament.
Žilinka is 55 years old. He has been in the position of Prosecutor General since December 10, 2020.
