Emil from Ādažu district is 19 years old, he is the only son of his parents, with his own dreams and plans for the future. Emil is a versatile young person, he is fond of computer games, fishing, likes to travel, he is a big fan of hockey and basketball, he takes care of family pets – a dog and a cat. Since Emil likes to cook, he decided to learn the profession of a cook. However, Emil had to stop his studies due to serious health problems, reports ziedot.lv
Soon after reaching adulthood, Emil’s life changed drastically – he was diagnosed with a tumor in his head. Initially, there were changes in facial expressions and mild movement disorders accompanied by headaches. After examinations, a diagnosis was made. last year Emil underwent a difficult but successful operation during which samples of the tumor were taken and sent to a specialist laboratory in London, where the type of tumor was determined.
Unfortunately, the tumor is located in a location that cannot be accessed by surgery or radiation therapy, so the only possible treatment at the discretion of the medical board is long-term therapy with special medications as the tumor progresses. The good news is that the experience of doctors and the results of treatment with these drugs so far show that it is possible to successfully treat the tumor in such cases. This gives hope that with proper and timely treatment, Emil will be able to return to his usual life and future plans. The bad news – the state pays for this medication for children, but not for adults. The cost of the treatment is 21,258.70 euros per month, for the first dose, the family collected donations privately, but for the continuation of the treatment, another 233,845.70 euros* is needed. Unfortunately, Emil’s family does not have such funds, so they are asking for the help of fellow human beings so that the treatment can be started as soon as possible.
It is possible to donate here.
Currently, less than 100,000 euros have been donated.
*the amount is reduced due to 15.04.2026. The decision of the National Health Service to grant individual compensation.
