We are seeking a suitably qualified professional to fill the role of Logistics Coordinator.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Logistics Coordinator shall be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective movement of all materials, incoming and outgoing, in order to ensure the company’s achievement of objectives. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Researching the most time and cost-effective methods of transportation and taking preventative measures to ensure against delays
- Liaising with customs broker personnel to ensure goods are received as scheduled
- Recording details of all shipping customs and other handling charges related to imports
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure receipt of the correct documentation for shipments and addressing any issues with documentation
- Liaising with Warehouse personnel in the scheduling, receipt and storage of incoming goods
- Communicating with Government ministries, Customs and Excise Department, customs brokers, shippers, etc. Ensuring that the necessary Government Import licenses and Duty Concessions are obtained
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Degree in Business Administration/Logistics/Supply Chain or A Diploma in purchasing/supply coupled with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a logistics/purchasing position, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent troubleshooting and negotiating skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detailed knowledge of international shipping practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
