The state institution “National Reference Laboratory” of the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan has received recognition from the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Center for Cooperation in the field of laboratory quality management system.
The event dedicated to this event was attended by acting. Head of the WHO Representative Office in Tajikistan Ilekr Dashtan, Director of the National Reference Laboratory Bahodur Kholnazar and other specialists, reports the Ministry of Health.
Obtaining WHO Collaborating Center status is international recognition of the laboratory’s consistent performance, as well as an important step in strengthening the country’s laboratory quality management system.
National reference laboratory is an institution that serves as a standard in the field of research (medicine, veterinary medicine, ecology). It conducts the most accurate tests, confirms the results of other laboratories, develops methods and monitors the quality of diagnostics.
It should be noted that Tajikistan was previously accepted into the WHO Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health.
The World Health Organization’s Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health operates under the auspices of the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe. It consists of 11 members from 9 countries, including 10 highly qualified experts and one scientific advisor.
The Commission was created under the leadership of the former Prime Minister of Iceland and brings together experts with extensive experience in the fields of health, sustainable development, environment, law and public policy from various regions of Europe and Central Asia.
