It was a tense moment. Precision was needed and not making mistakes. Finally, everything went as planned. City firefighters rescued a young man who was threatening to jump from the terrace of a building in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Villa Urquiza.
This was reported to THE NATION sources from the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security. It all happened on Good Friday, in the afternoon, in a building located at 5000 Nahuel Huapi, in Villa Urquiza.
“Thus, City Firefighters saved a young man who, under a psychiatric crisis, sat on the ledge of a terrace and wanted to jump into the void from the 13th floor. It was in Nahuel Huapi at 5000,” wrote X on his social network account. Undersecretary of Emergencies of the Buenos Aires government, Néstor Nicolás. The post was accompanied by the video of the rescue.

The sources consulted said that specialized personnel from the Corps of Psychologists of the City Police and the Emergency Medical Care Service (SAME), who spoke with the young man to try to convince him to stop his attitude.
In the footage uploaded to X by Nicolás you can hear a conversation between the specialized personnel. “He is not used to heights”said one of the firefighters while handing a plastic cup to a colleague.
That movement was used by a firefighter to hug the young man around the waist and pull him off the ledge to safety.
Later, with the young man now safe, the firefighters are heard telling him: “Ready, set, calm” and “We are here to help you, friend.”.
