One of the ugliest football scenes in recent years came from Spain, where Real Zaragoza goalkeeper Esteban Andrada became the protagonist of a serious incident during the match against Huesca.
It all happened in the extra minutes of the match, when the Argentine goalkeeper was initially shown a red card after a collision with an opponent.
But the situation got completely out of control: Andrada quickly returned and punched Huesca captain Jorge Pulido in the face, causing chaos on the pitch.
The incident sparked immediate reactions, with the involvement of many players and staff members, turning the end of the match into a massive brawl.
After the event, Andrada reacted publicly by apologizing for his behavior.
In a message distributed by the club, he admitted his guilt and stressed that he had lost control in a moment of great tension:
“The truth is, I’m very sorry for what happened. I lost control and I apologize.”
The Argentine goalkeeper added that he is ready to accept any decision or punishment that comes from the sporting authorities, describing his action as unacceptable.
On the other hand, his club Real Zaragoza has also strongly condemned the incident, distancing itself from the player’s behavior and promising internal disciplinary measures.
