The former Foreign Minister of Montenegro, Miodrag Vlahović, has praised the figure of the Montenegrin poet Radovan Zogović, describing him as a rare voice who denounced the injustices against the Albanians in Kosovo.
According to Vlahović, Zogović’s most important work, “Došljaci – Pjesme Ali Binaka” (“Descendants – poems of Ali Binaka”), constitutes a powerful poetic reaction to marginalization and social injustice, describing it as a “cry” against segregation and unfair treatment of the local population.
He emphasized that this work, published since 1937, is an important historical reflection and one of the deepest analyzes on colonization and social reality in Kosovo. Unlike many historical figures who are perceived differently by different parties, according to Vlahovic, Zogovici remains a figure that can be respected by everyone.
“Now, my idea for Radovan Zogović is to put Zogović on top of Čakor, I’m paraphrasing my lines: ‘he is a good man no matter which side of the mountain one comes down from.’ Radovan Zogović is good because we have many ‘heroes’, which depends on which side you look at them if they are heroes, from which side of the river you look at them, from which side of the hill you look at them, and from one side and the other side of In Çakor, Radovan Zogoviqi is a great man”, said Vlahovic during the conversation on the PIKċ podcast with publicist Veton Surroi.
Vlahović also praised the efforts to bring this work closer to the public, mentioning the publication in three languages by the diplomat Avni Spahiu.
