SAN MARINO – From Tuesday 3 November the new parking regulations in the car parks in front of the State Hospital come into force. The measure introduces a maximum limit of three hours, with the obligation to display the parking disc, to encourage vehicle rotation and increase parking possibilities for users of the healthcare facility.
The provision concerns exclusively the outdoor car parks located in front of the main entrance of the hospital and near the Specialist Clinics Building, identified as P5 and P7. Overall, approximately 70 parking spaces are affected.
The limit will be applied from Monday to Friday, exclusively on non-holidays. Motorists must display the parking disc inside the vehicle, in a clearly visible position, indicating the time of arrival.
The regulation will formally come into force on Sunday 1 November, but the first day of effective application will be Tuesday 3 November, considering that Monday 2 November, the commemoration of the All Souls, is a public holiday in the Republic of San Marino.
The three-hour limit will therefore not be applied on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, even when they fall during the week.
Multi-storey car parks, the area at the back of the hospital near the Cardiology and the Pharmaceutical Centre, the car parks along Via La Toscana and the stalls reserved for people with motor disabilities and pink car parks remain excluded from the new regulations. For these areas, the provisions already envisaged and the existing signage will continue to apply.
The measure, promoted by the Secretariat of State for Health and Social Security, was defined through coordination between the Institute for Social Security, the Civil Police Corps and the Autonomous State Company for Public Works, which oversaw the installation of the new signs.
The measure will be introduced on an experimental basis for six months. At the end of the period, the effects on the rotation of parking spaces and the access needs of hospital users will be assessed.
