PDK demands that Supremja be returned from The Hague to Kosovo and that the Special process be under international supervision

The Democratic Party of Kosovo, through the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on Specialized Chambers and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, submitted today to the Assembly, among other things, aims for two main changes in the way this judicial mechanism operates.
The first change concerns the supreme court: the intention is for it to exercise its function in Kosovo and not in The Hague, where the Specialized Chambers, including the panels of the Supreme Court, currently operate.
The second main change is the creation of a mechanism for international supervision of the process, in order for the operation of the Specialized Chambers to be subject to a clearer and defined form of control and supervision.
PDK submitted the draft law on Monday, September 21, to the Assembly of Kosovo. The initiative comes after the verdict of the Specialized Chambers against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, which PDK has publicly opposed.
It is precisely the return of the supreme court in Kosovo and the establishment of international supervision that constitute two of the main interventions that PDK intends to implement through the amendment of the Law on Specialized Chambers.
