Secretary of the Federation from 1982 to 1997, he was the protagonist of many union victories and of the various contractual renewals of the 80s and 90s. Since 2022 he has been appointed President of the Board of Arbitrators of the CSdL, demonstrating his great attachment to the Confederation and to the cause of workers and pensioners
SAN MARINO – At the age of 92, he passed away on Thursday 10 September Marino Bartolini. “His was a long militancy in the San Marino Labor Confederation, in which he held important positions – recalls the CSdL – he was elected in 1981 to the Board of Directors of the United Federation of Construction and Related Workers (FULEA, subsequently merged with FULSAC, now united in the FUCS), becoming its Secretary from 1982 to 1997. In this long period he distinguished himself in various contractual renewals and for the many union achievements for the workers in these sectors, Marino proudly remembered having been the protagonist of the signing of the first insurance contract: until then the employees of this sector had no contractual coverage.
Marino Bartolini was part of the CSdL Confederal Board of Directors from 1984 until 2010, and of the Board of the Pensioners’ Federation from 2004 to 2021, with a break between 2010 and 2014. In November 2021, on the occasion of the 20th CSdL Confederal Congress, he was elected to the Board of Arbitrators, which subsequently appointed him President. For several years he has also been actively involved in the Vita Sana Association, promoted by the CSU, as a member of the Board of Directors.
In January 2024, the CSdL and the FUPS celebrated his 90th birthday by meeting him in the Mario Nanni room, in the Confederation headquarters. CSdL General Secretary Enzo Merlini, in expressing his best wishes, had given him a plaque and a copy of the CSdL’s articles of association, as a sign of gratitude for his long militancy in the Confederation and the Pensioners’ Federation.
In the telegram sent to the family, CSdL Secretary Enzo Merlini wrote: “We remember him with great emotion: we established a strong and special relationship with Marino, for the profound ethical values that inspired him and the great wealth of experience that he passed on to us, his sympathy and his extremely frank and cordial character. We appreciated him for his human qualities, for his tireless and passionate commitment, and for his stubborn determination in affirming workers’ rights. We will always carry him with affection in our hearts”concludes the CSdL.
