Faisal bin Mishal appreciates the launch of the Museum and Exhibition of Fungal Creatures project in Qassim
His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal, Emir of the Qassim region, praised the launch of the Museum and Exhibition of Fungal Creatures in Qassim project, as a qualitative addition to the Prince Faisal bin Mishal Center for the Preservation and Propagation of Local Plants east of the city of Buraidah, under the supervision and management of the Environmental Awareness Association. The project aims to monitor, document and display the biodiversity of fungal organisms in the local environment, and to enhance environmental awareness among community members, by providing scientific and cognitive content that highlights the richness of the natural environment and its vital components in the Qassim region.
The museum and exhibition seek to support the educational process through modern display methods and awareness programs targeting various segments of society, in addition to contributing to the preservation of natural resources and supporting scientific research in relevant environmental fields. The project is based on a number of main objectives, including environmental documentation, education and awareness, supporting scientific research, and consolidating concepts of sustainability, which contributes to spreading environmental culture and enhancing societal responsibility towards preserving the environment.
The project comes as an extension of the efforts aimed at achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing environmental awareness, preserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable development, by providing a scientific and awareness platform that highlights biodiversity in the region and supports environmental and cognitive initiatives.
