The Andorran pilot Xavi Cardelús has announced that he puts final point in his sports career and what leaves the Supersport World Championship. The motorcyclist explains that he has taken the decision after a “long reflection”, motivated by the loss of confidence on the motorcyclethe lack of results and the fact that “I no longer enjoyed driving and racing at all“.
Cardelús remember that he started the season with the Cerba Yamaha Racingconvinced of the potential of the Yamaha and of the team led by Raul Jarawith whom he achieved his best results, like the European Moto2 sub-championship. However, he assures that the performance of the bike and the sensations “have been getting worse race after race”. As an example, it highlights that after the first seven rounds of the world he only has two points, far from the 44 he had achieved at the same point last season.
The pilot claims that the prospects for the future have led him to close this stage and dedicate yourself to other projects that currently motivate you the most or require your attention. Finally, he wanted to thank the support received throughout his career from his family, teams, sponsors and Andorran motorcycling fans.
