The Head of Government, Xavier Espothas moved to delegate of the Government of Spain in Catalonia, Carlos Prietothe demand of Andorra so that the future European system of entry and exit takes into account air travel, in particular those helicopter flightsin the meeting they held today in Barcelona. The request proposes that these flights have one regime equivalent to that of the land borderbased on unsystematic or random controlsas stated by the Government in a statement. The goal is prevent them from being considered as an external Schengen border and, therefore, subjected to systematic controls, while maintaining security guarantees.
The issue is one of those that was addressed during the meeting that Espot held with Prieto, as part of a working visit focused on mobility, migration and border control. During the meeting, the head of government also reiterated the need tospeed up residence, work and study authorizations for nationals Andorrans in Spain, especially in the case of students, and has demanded the effective application of the trilateral agreement between Andorra, Spain and France.
