The Superior Council of Justice of Andorra wanted to acknowledge the work of the magistrate this afternoon Yves Picodwho retires on June 30, after a long career in the Andorran judicial system. The event, chaired by the president of Superior Council of Justice, Joseph Maria Rossellhas served to publicly highlight its contribution to the consolidation of an independent, rigorous justice system that respects the guarantees of the rule of law.
The binding of Beak with the judicial institutions of principality dates back to the year 1991when he was appointed, by presidential decree of the French co-prince, magistrate, deputy judge of appeals and vice-president of the Court of Courts. The 1994 was appointed magistrate of the Superior Court of Justiceto skin CSJa position he has held continuously. between the 2014 and the 2024 presided over the criminal court of Superior Court of justice for two consecutive terms, and between January 1 and April 1, 2024 he assumed the interim presidency of Superior Court
Throughout his career, he has combined the exercise of the magistracy with outstanding academic activity. Professor of private law at the University of Perpignandean of the Faculty of Law i Economic Sciences and author of numerous reference legal publications.
In his parliament, the president emphasized “the contribution of the magistrate Beak to the development and operation of Andorran justice, as well as its commitment to legal training and the international projection of law”.
At the tribute act he was accompanied by the members of the Superior Council of the justice and by numerous members of the judiciary, relatives and staff of the administration of justice.
