President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the “Namangan Sheep Breeding Cluster” being established in Torakorgan district. Within the framework of the project worth 35 million dollars, a modern sheep-breeding complex will be established, it is planned to increase the volume and quality of meat production, create new jobs and ensure employment of the population.

The “Namangan Sheep Breeding Cluster” project in Torakorgan district is being implemented in three stages. The complex, which is being established in an area with a total area of 10 hectares, was implemented on the basis of the decision of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at supporting the livestock industry is being done.


In the first stage of the project, 15,000 breeding sheep were brought from abroad, and in the next stages, it is planned to increase their number to another 35,000. Adaptation of highly productive Arashan, Hisor and Adelbay breeds to local conditions is being carried out in the cluster.
Based on modern care technologies and scientific approaches, sheep are fed intensively. This allows to significantly increase the efficiency of meat production. After the project is fully operational, it is expected that 35-40 thousand tons of quality meat products will be produced in the region per year.


280 new permanent jobs will be created within the cluster. Also, employment of 95 poor families will be provided. Infrastructures of logistics, veterinary, service and direct sales of products will also be organized at the complex.

While getting acquainted with the project, the President emphasized its importance in the development of the livestock sector, providing the domestic market with quality meat products, and increasing the income of the population, and gave orders for the wide implementation of this experience.
